Useful Instructional Resources

Microsoft Teams is for everyone, a collaboration app that helps your team stay organized and have conversations—all in one place. This is a fantastic resource to get in touch with students directly and quickly. It is easy to use, and  this is great in reaching out to students, hold on-the-spot meetings, have conversations, and share files. I also collaborate with teachers in this platform.

Whenever I find myself lacking a teaching tool or material, I find that I turn to IXL. There are unlimited Language Arts activities  with meaningful, up-to-date tracking on of my students' progress. What I like most is that IXL allows students to build the foundational skills before they jump into deeper learning with words and enhances reading comprehension.

White Structure
My students love to use Flipgrid. It is designed to allow students to speak to the group but without the same fear that might constrict responses in a real - world situation. What I like about flipgrid is that students can re-record responses, removing the pressure of answering in class, on the spot. Since students are given the space and time to respond when they're ready, it makes educational engagement possible for even more anxious students who might ordinarily feel left out in class. Of course, it's also a great tool to use when learning remotely.

This is another resource that I found useful which supports students' development of vocabulary skills and background knowledge. I can assign passages, vocabulary activities and full or partial standards-aligned questions sets to entire classes, small groups, or individuals. The audio for each passage is very helpful to my English learner students. They can listen to the audioand read along so it helps them identify difficul words. It is easy to grade student responses and track progress.
